All car rentals in Hastings are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Hastings office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually required upon picking up the vehicle. All pricing is in British Pounds (£) and inclusive of VAT where applicable. 4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed at this time. Please return the vehicle in the same condition it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as appropriate. Ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as when it was picked up; refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. If you anticipate a late return, please contact us promptly, as additional charges may apply. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every vehicle rental from Car Hire in Hastings. Comprehensive coverage details, including excess amounts, can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial liability. You will be responsible for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless you opt for extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, regardless of the insurance you hold.

It is prohibited to transport hazardous materials or to sub-let the vehicle. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Adhere to passenger and weight limits, and do not drive outside designated geographical areas without prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Hastings Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
